A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
Buying or selling a home can be a very stressful process. When you work with a professional REALTOR® like me however, who is dedicated and experienced, much of that stress can be eliminated.
I am a Real Estate Broker and co-owner of Details Realty Inc., Brokerage, with my husband Richard Keirans, Broker of Record.
I have also been a longtime volunteer with the Ottawa Real Estate Board. I served as one of it's Directors during 2016 and 2017 and am now in a second term as Director for 2019 and 2020.
I am currently one of the founding Directors of the Stittsville Business Association.
I became a REALTOR® in 2006, because I really enjoy the excitement of helping people look for and find that perfect home, and of getting their current home ready for sale, and then sold for top dollar. I enjoy the challenge of preparing for and negotiating all aspects of the sale or purchase.
My personal skills as a REALTOR® are strengthened by more the than 30 years of negotiation, research, project planning and implementation that comprised my previous career as a consultant and small business owner.
As a REALTOR®, I enjoy sharing with my clients, my basic, practical knowledge about houses & home construction. This knowledge can be useful in spotting the difference between a solid home that needs some cosmetic work and one that needs extensive and costly work. Being able to identify some basic, & obvious potential issues with a home before it is either listed for sale (if I'm the listing Broker), or the offer is prepared (if I'm, the Buyers' Broker), can help to avoid having sales fall apart due to surprise issues arising during building inspections that should have been obvious from the outset. This saves both the buyer and the seller, time and money.
In addition to the many home sales and purchases that I have facilitated during my real estate career, I have personally purchased and renovated four homes, with much of the renovation work being "hands on". I not only have first hand experience of living in a renovation project for years, but have also repaired plaster ceilings, hung drywall, built decks and fences, laid hardwood & ceramic floors, as well as many other projects.
I have owned homes in the heart of the urban core, in a remote rural setting, in a small rural village, and in suburbia, so I have first hand knowledge of the joys to anticipate and the pitfalls to be prepared for in each instance.
When I am not working on my Real Estate business, I like to spend time with my beautiful daughter, my husband Richard, and Ginger, our long haired chihuahua. I like to garden, and am crafty as well, working with beads, stained glass and other craft media from time to time.
